Prolapsed Disc Lower Back Pain
I have had lower back pain for about 5 years, my G.P. diagnosed prolapsed disc i went for all of the necessary tests. I was told that they could get me 70% pain free with surgery and i believed them. I was o.k for the first few months then after that i started to get severe back pain again and had foot drop and numbness in the lower part of my left leg. I went for a second operation and am now worse than i was before my operation. I have no feeling in the lower part of my left leg and my foot always feels cold and I'm in constant pain. I am on a 100mg morphine sulphate and in between on liquid morphine. Even though i take these medication I'm still in a lot of pain. I have good days and bad days and have a very unhappy life. I am very depressed and find myself thinking that life is not worth living. I cry a lot and i feel that i can't go to my g.p. as there are no other pain killers he can give me. My long term partner is suffering big time and he feel he shouldn't. - Tina
