The Forgotten Dialect: Our Body Language
Part 16: Mindbody Treatment Offerings
by: Dr. Roger Gietzen Neurologist & Mindbody Medicine Specialist
Treatment Plan B: Unlearn Your Pain
Another effective emotional development tool can be found in a book called Unlearn Your Pain by Howard Schubiner, MD. This particular work may suit people who have a hard time with the neutral spiritual concepts introduced in The Presence Process or who cannot commit to the ten week tool. This work requires reading a small amount and then initiating a four week tool. Although Unlearn Your Pain is written primarily for people suffering from pain disorders, it effectively improves emotional awareness which can benefit almost anyone. The four week program covered in this book combines daily guided meditations (a CD is provided with the book), daily therapeutic writing, self inquiry and self improvement assignments.
Treatment Plan C: Personal Mindbody Consult
The next major undertaking in the development of my clinic is to produce a unique stress management tool. If you wish to be notified when this is completed, contact me and ask to be placed on the mindbody group email list. Until that time, there are two main services that I provide directly through my clinic in addition to or in place of the above mentioned stress management tools:1. Holistic Medical Evaluation - You may benefit from an evaluation where your medical condition and treatments are viewed in a holistic way. A "layman's" description of your medical condition and its conventionally accepted root cause could be provided. The advantages and limits of the different conventional treatments for that condition could be explained. I can also help guide you in treatment choices from both conventional and alternative backgrounds. 2. Emotional Development Facilitation - For those motivated to embark on developing their emotional awareness, direct guidance in the form of counseling may be useful and is available in the clinic. Life provides the tools we need, when we really need them, and not a moment sooner. The Forgotten Dialect, Part 1
