Two Surgeries Down and One to Go

In 1997 I hurt my back carrying a piece of corian marble, L-4-5 was blow out. Did the epidurals, trigger shots and nothing worked. Had my first surgery at 23 yrs old, My doctor said all went well, but I don't think so. Pain was still there, so he covered it up with hydrocodone and somas for many years. When I was able to go back to work, I blew out another one at the L-5/S-1 location, did all the conservative treatments first, then got the (you need another surgery) speech. It has been 5 years and now the l-5/s-1 is ruptured again!!! got the news today that a lumbar fusion needs to be done (when will it end...or will it?) To this day my life is pain and pain pills (not the way I had wanted it to turn out) I have to wonder if I am wasting my time doing this one? I have never had a fusion and can't help wondering how this will turn out. - William
