Dr. John Sarno
Dr. John Sarno is an attending physician at the Howard A. Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, New York University Medical Center. He is also a Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine, New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Sarno is an innovator in the field of mind/body medicine and has authored some of the very best books on the subject, including:

Dr. Sarno Education and Training
Dr. Sarno graduated from Columbia U College of P&S in 1950. He interned at USPAS Hospital and completed his residency at Babies Hospital Columbia Presbyterian in 1961. Dr. Sarno completed a Clinical Fellowship in Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Medical Center in 1963. Dr. Sarno is board certified in Rehabilitation Medicine and specializes in all musculoskeletal disorders.
Dr. John Sarno and Tension Myositis Syndrome
Dr. Sarno is best known for his diagnosis of
tension myositis syndrome,
or TMS. Dr. Sarno has taken many chances in his medical career by going against the grain and scoffing at many of the accepted tenets of physical medical science. He is a voice of reason and enlightenment despite the criticism of many doctors who continue to embrace antiquated medical concepts. Dr. Sarno has become the hero of many suffering patients, including this humble writer.
